The DS-Series drum scaling machines scale the fish by gently spinning them in a metal mesh drum. The rotating action and friction between the fish and the mesh removes the scales. The fish are scaled for a predetermined length of time controlled by an automatic adjustable timer. This ensures that the fish are scaled without any damage to the eyes or gills.

The DS-400 is a drum scaler fitted with a PLC for controlled positioning of the drum. The PLC enables with the drum to return to a load or unload position with the touch of a button. The cycle time between loads is greatly reduced as the need to manually jog the drum into the desired position is eliminated.

The PISCES fish belly opening machine type BC-11 is suitable for the opening of the bellies of whole fishes such as seabass, seabream, corvina and trout. The cut is adjustable according to the size/range of the fish.

The fishes are manually positioned on the infeed rollers of the machine with the belly down. The machine forwards the fish automatically inside the system and cuts the belly. Then the fish is automatically forwarded outside of the machine for further processing.

The VAKI Macro and Micro counters are utilized when fish are being delivering from hatcheries, or for precise stock control operations when splitting, moving, or grading are being conducted. These counters can be utilized in many applications including wellboats, helicopters and transport trucks. Additionally, commercial aquaculture operators can use the VAKI Macro and Micro Counters to provide useful stock information during the growing cycle.

The Macro has a capacity of 200,000 smolts or 1 million 1g fry per hour and has a 100 cm wide counting area. With a range from 0.1g – 400g the Macro is ideal suited for accurate and fast delivery of fry and smolts. The Macro can be delivered both as single or 4 channel.

The Micro is exceptionally good for hatcheries and counting small fish between 0.1g – 200g. The counting area is 50 cm wide with a capacity of 500,000 1 g fish per hour. The Micro is ideal for the internal handling of smaller fish or delivering fry. The Micro can be delivered both as single or 3 channel.

The VAKI Exel Counter is the biggest fish counter in the Macro Range. It has a 120cm wide counting area and has 25% higher capacity than the standard Macro, wireless Internet, logging system and a faster camera connection. The Exel Counter can be delivered both as single or 4 channels. This range of counters is based on a scanning camera and computer vision. The fish are carried gently in water through the scanning area where the outlines are recorded. Custom software is used to analyze and count each image. Even at maximum capacity the counter is extremely accurate – over 99%.

The VAKI Pipeline Counter (PLC) is installed in a pipeline from a grading machine or on the end of the pipe into a tank. Most often the PLC is being used for counting fish when being pumped either from a pen to a wellboat when delivering fish for harvesting, or when fish are pumped from one pen to another under grading or splitting of the cages. PLC can also be used at the outlet of a grading machine. The fish are counted as they pass through the counter using infra-red light beams that form a grid inside the scanner. For every fish pumped through the scanner, the grid is broken and an image of the fish is generated. The image is then used to count the fish.
